Hackney Foodie Weekend

When: Saturday 17th September 2011, 10am-6pm

Where: St. Johns of Hackney, Lower Clapton Rd, Hackney, E5 0PD

Culinary global delights come to Hackney on Saturday for a foodie feast at St John’s Church, E8. Hackney Homemade are connecting a lot of the things we love this Saturday 17th September. Join drummers, dancers and delicacies from Korea, Africa, Japan, India and of course, Britain! There’s a bric-a-brac and vintage market too.

As part of the ‘We Love Hackney’ weekend the pop up festival will feature tours of St Augustine Tower and Hackney Empire, and special events by Sutton House and the Hackney Museum.

Festival: Little London Fields

The free festival is back on (after some council wrangling) on Saturday 20th August 2011.

It’s in London Fields and it is not so little with 3 stages of eclectic music, plenty of food from local stalls, art displays and design and something called “Celebrity Graveyard Karaoke”. Sounds like fun! They say that the aim of the festival is to all create “a truly unique atmosphere to what should be a very special, community occasion!”

The line-up is yet to be released, but check back on their website for more information and to register for free tickets… then just pray for sunny weather.
